Problem: Cracking in columns and at flange-web intersections of T-beams, due to asymmetrical design and loading.

Results: Impact-Echo identified cracks at flange-web intersections in certain T-beam configurations, determined extent of cracking in columns, and confirmed that solid cores existed in some cracked columns.

Verification: Expansion joints in slabs removed to expose cracks in T-Beams.

Outcome: Impact-Echo test results used to design and implement comprehensive repairs.
